Andrew Simon was working in healthcare consulting when he met the founders and leaders of healthcare staffing company Health Carousel. Inspired by their vision and leadership, Simon came on board. Now, eight years later, he serves as president, corporate services and senior VP, locum tenens for Health Carousel.

During his tenure, Simon has led seven acquisitions over six years, representing $89.6 million total in revenue, and helped the company rank as the 15th-largest locum tenens provider. Beyond numbers, however, Simon says the most rewarding aspect of the job is having the opportunity to positively impact providers, employees and — most important — patients. His impact was unmistakable this past year as Simon supported the placement of hundreds of healthcare professionals on the front lines of the pandemic. Simon says being able to support healthcare workers in their noble mission “really brought to life why we’re here and what we do.”

A major draw to the staffing industry, Simon notes, is its dynamic, ever-changing nature. Looking ahead, Simon’s goal is to help lead Health Carousel — and the healthcare staffing industry as a whole — through its digital transformation, adopting and implementing the technology that will propel their work forward. Simon says he is driven by the nature of the work he does: “If we do well here, and we succeed here at Health Carousel, that means that there are patients who are getting the care that they need,” he says.
