“A rising tide lifts all boats.” This concept was first explained to ALKU VP of Business Development David Bruner at the start of his career, and he continues to pass this lesson on.
“If you set the tone, you will be surprised what everyone else around you will do in an effort to keep up or outperform you — which is all we needed at first,” Bruner explains.
Bruner is one of the four people who launched ALKU in 2008. Since then, he has been influential in making ALKU a grand-prize winner in SIA’s Best Staffing Firms to Work For competition and instrumental in creating the ‘Have Fun Working Hard’ ethic that is the cornerstone of ALKU culture.
Headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, with six other offices nationwide, the firm now counts more than 200 fulltime staff. Bruner is responsible for the sales processes and strategies that all ALKU employees use daily. He has also been involved in launching and ramping up all divisions within ALKU including life sciences — which is now the largest brand in the company — as well as launching ALKU’s government division. In addition, Bruner was instrumental in ALKU’s 2017 acquisition and integration of healthcare IT consulting services provider Holland Square Group.
Bruner continues to help position the company so others within the firm can exceed his own accomplishments. “As that happens, then it’s a job well done,” he says.
