Jason Leverant was in the golf industry before taking a swing at staffing. Today, he’s president and chief operating officer of AtWork Group. The Knoxville, Tenn.- based industrial and office/clerical staffing provider ranks on SIA’s list of largest US staffing firms, and it’s a franchiser as well.

“We’ve helped a lot of people find great jobs, we’ve helped introduce a lot of franchise owners to the industry,” Leverant says. “To help people join the industry, to find the joy that I do in staffing, it’s pretty awesome.”

His recent accomplishments reflect the passion he has for the industry. This year, Leverant was named to the Staffing Industry Analysts’ Staffing 100 list for the fifth consecutive year, and AtWork ranked among the top 100 of Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500.

In addition to AtWork, Leverant also serves as chairman of the American Staffing Association’s workers’ compensation committee.

Leverant got his start at golf equipment maker Dunlop; the US firm he worked for was actually a licensee of Dunlop, a larger, UK company and eventually the larger firm decided to take over US operations. Leverant changed careers to staffing. First, he took a job at Randstad, then at AtWork. Leverant joined AtWork in October 2007, and his personal goal is to make the company a household name.
