John-Reed McDonald

Although John-Reed McDonald is his family’s third generation in the staffing industry, he had no intention of getting into the business — until halfway through college when he was hired by a competitor of PrideStaff. That opportunity positioned him to eventually become a part of PrideStaff, a $200 million national staffing services and employment agency providing temporary staffing and recruiting for multiple industries and job openings. The company has a culture and set of values that truly make him want to be his best every day. As senior VP, McDonald leads a team of seven VPs and feels it’s imperative that he enable each of them to be their very best by giving advice and guidance when necessary, and at the same time, providing them the tools and support they need to ensure the success of PrideStaff’s franchisees.

He takes great pride in helping guide a system of franchisees to grow to more than 80 offices from 25, and increasing sales to more than $200 million from about $55 million in a nine-year period. In addition to helping franchisees be successful, McDonald is greatly motivated by wanting to show his six daughters what hard work can accomplish. He had career professional parents as role models, and he and his wife (also a successful businesswoman) work very hard to set that same example for their children.
