Jourdan Block

Jourdan Block is a third generation staffing professional. His more than 20 years’ experience in and around the industry began at a very young age from sitting in on client calls, talking business at the dinner table, and doing small jobs around the office.

Now 29, Block is COO of the $200 million Staffing-the-Universe Family of Companies, where he works closely with his family to keep all five of the organizations running smoothly.

Block oversees back-office operations, technology, finance, IT and new program implementations and RFPs, and recently guided the company through several technological upgrades. He works closely with client accounts as well, having added some major accounts to his portfolio and overseeing double-digit growth in others over the last couple of years. His hands-on account management style recently took him on a four-day multicity tour for a Fortune 500 client.

He is active in the industry, speaking at various association events, and was named chairman of the Microsoft Dynamics New York delegation. He is also a member of an industry CIO symposium, through which he collaborates with CIOs from the largest staffing companies in the US on their technology needs and processes.

A graduate from Pennsylvania State University with a dual major in finance and labor relations, Block is currently working on his MBA at NYU Stern.
