Justin Thomason

Entering the staffing field just out of college, Justin Thomason found quick success, managing more than 30 recruiters by the age of 26. Then he joined MATRIX Resources in 2010, where, as regional director of recruiting, he works in a more relationship-focused capacity.

Thomason’s proven to be quite the innovator at MATRIX, such as with the company’s intern sourcing program. After noting how sourcing kept recruiters from performing the more relationship-building tasks, he developed a program for senior-level college students to perform the sourcing tasks. Recruiters’ productivity has grown considerably, while the program’s interns (numbering 50 over the last three years) have gone on to achieve their own success internally at MATRIX, in addition to major corporations such as Oracle and Southwest Airlines.

Thomason also was instrumental in MATRIX’s adoption of the Agile Recruiting Method, which he was invited to speak about at the Bullhorn Engage Conference in 2015. Modeled after the Agile software development methodology, the Agile Recruiting Method also earned a Monster Innovation Award 2015 nomination due to its use of the Monster TalentBin technology.

But what Thomason finds most fulfilling in his career is the impact he has had on others by creating an environment and providing a platform to help people grow in their careers and lives. It’s seeing their success, professionally as well as personally. And he wants more of that — to continue to help the company grow, and to see his colleagues grow as well.
