Kristin Valentine, VP of marketing at Cella, had no intention of getting into staffing. However, when Robert Half reached out to her in 2008 for a marketing position, she didn’t turn it down.
“Nobody wakes up and says I want to be in staffing, but this has been one of my best decisions in life. Finding people jobs, connecting with them and ultimately bringing food to their tables is the purpose which keeps me going,” she says.
In 2019, she joined Cella, which provides consulting, staffing and managed solutions for creative, marketing, digital and proposal development teams. She guided the company through a rebrand in 2020, launching a new website, building out a creative and marketing industry-specific content program, and leading the company through a digital transformation.
Last year, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Valentine helped Cella achieve 7.5% revenue growth — when the size of the staffing industry market as a whole was at its lowest level since 2013.
She has also been instrumental in taking the firm’s diversity commitment a step further by establishing the company’s DE&I council, whose mission is to embed DE&I into all aspects of the organization. “Cella believes in putting people first, and that is something which motivates me every day to continue what I’m doing and make a difference,” she says.
