“Just go out and get it done.” That’s how Mary Martin pursues life as well as her career. Right out of high school, Martin worked at a regional airline but was furloughed after 9/11. At that point, she went to TEKsystems as a receptionist and proved her mettle and dedication by staying after hours nightly to train to become a technical recruiter — and she hasn’t slowed down since.
After TEKsystems, she took on operational roles at several large managed service providers before discovering her aptitude and appreciation for sales. Enter Provade, which allowed her to stretch her sales skills in the vendor management system space, and “really helped me grow as a technical person.” When Provade was acquired by Pinnacle Group, Martin says she fell in love with “the spirit of the company … the entrepreneurial DNA that is a part of who they are is definitely who I am. I found the home I was always searching for.”
Martin was offered the opportunity to build Pinnacle’s $1 billion MSP group while working in tandem with Pinnacle’s MSP operational teams. She has assisted Pinnacle’s growth through the addition of several new accounts focusing on staff augmentation MSP programs as well as SOW management. Martin lives in Milwaukee, Wis., where she was born and raised, with her husband and three-year-old-son.
