Michael Jacoutot, Jr.’s passion for the staffing industry runs in the family — his father was a staffing industry executive who had a tremendous influence on his career. But it was in 2011 that Jacoutot took his first step into the industry and just two years later, the College of New Jersey graduate started his own firm in 2013 with Spire Workforce Solutions, which places sales and recruiting professionals.
To be a successful leader under 40 in the staffing industry means that Jacoutot always keeps his ear to the ground within the industry, which he views as “ever-changing, yet it has the same core principles that made others before me successful.” Among the core principles that Jacoutot embraces and focuses on is the people aspect. “Companies can’t grow without people and for the most part, people need companies to grow.”
Spire’s motto is to “operate in a steady state of uneasiness” as he says Spire is motivated by the fact that anything can happen and “you might as well perform while you can.”
Like any successful leader, Jacoutot shares his success with up-and-coming staffing industry professionals, advising them to “work with people you like,” always follow up, and to delay gratification as the job is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
