Roman philosopher Seneca once said that luck is when preparation meets opportunity — and Paul Griffin, chief legal officer of The Select Group, agrees. In 2013, while working in private practice at a law firm, Griffin received an email from TSG the day before his wedding and decided to pivot his career path. He returned from his honeymoon to find an invitation to interview. “It’s been a fun seven years, a wild ride,” he says. “I’ve learned so much.”
Griffin’s favorite part of being an in-house lawyer is celebrating the wins of the organization and his teammates as they achieve goals for consultants and clients. He is passionate about providing a high level of customer service while taking on more complex solutions to business challenges. “High performance culture means continuous self-improvement. It’s important to get the right people in the right seats who buy into that mindset too,” he adds. “I love promoting people on my team or see them transfer and flourish within a department that aligns with their career goals.”
In 2023, Griffin anticipates reaching the coveted 10-year milestone with TSG, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and ranks among the largest staffing firms in the US. In the meantime, he aims to focus on supporting the business as they grow, scale, take market share, and have fun and celebrate their successes along the way.
