Ryan Larkin

Ryan Larkin joined MDstaffers — and the staffing industry as a whole — in 2015; in that short time, he has tackled increasingly integral roles within the company, driving it to new and impressive heights. MDstaffers is a national locum tenens and permanent placement physician and advanced practitioner staffing firm. In Larkin’s current role as chief operating officer, he oversees and integrates all functions of MDstaffers, executing the firm’s business plan, driving growth, and delivering success — including full P&L responsibility.

Previously an IT consultant, Larkin first joined the firm as VP of information technology, transitioned to sales shortly after he coordinated and managed MDstaffers’ acquisition of LAM Associates in 2016, and later became VP of service delivery. Directly working with many of the nation’s top health systems to achieve better physician staffing levels, Larkin managed the firm’s selection, adoption and implementation of a companywide “operating system” in mid-to-late-2019, before stepping into his current role in November. Helping people is his greatest motivator: “Knowing my work is helping someone is gratifying — whether that be my employee, client, candidate or the front-line patient that is receiving care because of the back-end work we did,” he says.

The results speak for themselves, as Larkin’s efforts and leadership helped drive MDstaffers’ three-year 5,500%-plus revenue growth from 2016 to 2018, which landed MDstaffers on the Inc. 500 as the 49th fastest-growing company in the US. The firm was also named one of Sacramento’s best places to work in 2019.
