If Adam Francis was going to devote his 20s to something, he wanted to have the best chance of success. A year after graduating from the University of Notre Dame and driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to build a business. With a family background in the staffing industry, that was the direction he headed, launching San Diego-based Host Healthcare Inc. in 2012. Host Healthcare now counts more than 60 internal team members and hundreds of healthcare professionals on assignment — about 80% in travel nursing and 20% in travel allied positions.
Early on, Francis recognized the importance of a company culture with a focus on positivity, accountability and quality. “We have very strong values, and it makes me happy to go into a workplace where we have a team-oriented environment,” Francis says. “People treat each other with respect.”
Host Healthcare was ranked as the fourth-best travel nursing firm by travel nursing informational website Highway Hypodermics. It also garnered a silver award from website Travel Nursing Central and ranked in the top 10 travel nursing companies by the travel nursing website BluePipes. In addition, Host Healthcare was recently recognized as one of the best places to work in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal.
