Since joining Real Staffing in 2013, Craig Heywood has helped the New York business become one of SThree’s largest contract profit centers; he also helped launch the Boston office in 2017. Earlier this year, Heywood was promoted to VP of the national brand.

He and his team have consistently led the brand to double-digit growth and as of 2020, Real was growing at five times the industry average. The group prides itself on providing value to its customers in hard-to-find specialist roles in areas like regulatory, clinical, biometrics and engineering in therapeutic areas that make a difference.

Heywood is particularly proud of his team’s work during the Covid-19 pandemic. “We supported companies at the forefront of creating Covid testing kits and vaccines,” he says. “We are working on pivotal studies that have helped with the Covid efforts. It has been really rewarding to contribute in our way when the whole world is struggling.”

Heywood’s staffing career began in 2011 after earning a law degree in the UK. Familiar with the staffing industry through a friend, he decided to join SThree — a UK-headquartered science, technology, engineering and math specialist staffing firm — as an associate. And he has not looked back. His other point of pride is helping others grow in their careers. “We have been able to take people with little experience and give them opportunities to grow into amazing leaders. I am thankful for those opportunities.”
