As Jeannie Halsey tells it, the staffing industry chose her and every day since, she’s proven why she is the perfect choice.

After graduating from Keene State College in New Hampshire with a degree in communications, Halsey became a recruiter with Kaplan Higher Education. She moved on to The Nagler Group in 2008, helping to place thousands of people. In 2014, she became senior recruiting manager.

Throughout her career, Halsey has fostered lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike, and that’s what she’s most proud of — that people she helped place years ago return to her for help.

It’s the relationship building that lasts “for many years to come,” that she credits for her success at such a young age. “It’s not very hard for me to find good talent because most of the time they’re coming to me based off referrals.”

It also helps that she lives and works in the community, which makes her more approachable and visible as a recruiter.

Halsey advises up-and-coming professionals seeking success to stay committed and not give up. “Building your brand as a recruiter is important and the longer you’re in it, the stronger it becomes.”

When she’s not recruiting, Halsey spends time volunteering in the community or enjoying hobbies such as swimming, kayaking, gardening and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
