Mona Veiseh

Mona Veiseh’s passion for storytelling, which initially drew her to a career in journalism/politics, is what made her fall in love with staffing. As with journalism, she notes, in recruiting you must do your due diligence, investigate and tell compelling stories. Joining NuWest Group right after college, Veiseh has worked in healthcare and scientific staffing for 16 years and is excited every day to work with people whose tenacity and grit inspire her. Currently CEO of NuWest Healthcare, she says she’s learned that “challenging others and being challenged is one of the best ways to feel uniquely alive.”

Veiseh describes NuWest as a full-suite healthcare staffing firm set up in specialized teams of trained and dedicated experts in various niches — in essence, a solutions company that happens to provide staffing, MSP, RPO, and contract, contract-to-hire and direct-hire staffing services.

When NuWest, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, found itself at the center of the Covid-19 response in 2020, the firm didn’t miss a beat. “We did what we always do — listen intently to the challenges our customers face and come up with unique solutions,” Veiseh says. Partnering with various organizations to establish best practices for crisis response, Veiseh’s team launched a Covid-19 hotline that started as a service response for Washington state but resulted in thousands of nurses deployed to hotspots across the country.

Outside of the office, Veiseh spends time with her family and emerging women leaders she mentors in and out of NuWest.
