Seth Burr

As co-founder and COO of Boston-based LABUR, Seth Burr drives business transformation using technology, behavioral analysis and assessment techniques. Burr was instrumental in the development of LABUR’s proprietary matching process, LABURin2itive, a “real-time sourcing” methodology that draws on proprietary data, with acute attention to the less measurable human component and soft skill factors.

Burr started his career in financial services at an investment management firm, and then entered the staffing industry at a billion-dollar publicly traded staffing firm before launching LABUR with a college friend. Seeking to build something more altruistic, the firm has created a value-based internal culture that earned the company recognition this year on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of Best Staffing Firms to Temp For.

“My passion for staffing started when I saw the opportunity in the industry to do more by giving back,” he says. “It’s a way to make a living, but it’s also a way to influence how other people achieve success, and I love that. Our focus here has always been on the individual in front of us, not on how to scale that but on how to thoughtfully expand our influence.”
