After building an investment banking career in New York, Meg Nunnally returned to her home state of Washington to join the staffing industry. “When I was nine, TrueBlue was founded out of a garage less than five miles from where I grew up,” she says. She jumped on board after moving back from New York in 2015, and now TrueBlue is the largest publicly traded industrial staffing company in the United States. “It’s the perfect coming-home story for me to leverage my Wall Street skills to help my hometown company take their game up a notch.”

As the senior director of corporate finance, Nunnally leads companywide financial planning and analysis as well as the investor relations platform, which she built from the ground up. Her favorite part of her role is, as she calls it, storytelling. “As a former investment banker, I love spreadsheets and data,” she explains, “but spreadsheets don’t prompt action. You have to take the numbers and create a compelling story, marrying numbers with narrative to help leaders see the path ahead and make good decisions.”

Nunnally also adds that she is motivated by her service-driven “work hard, play hard” mentality. “I love helping leaders achieve their goals,” she says. “C-suite executives have big ideas and need someone to lay the planning. I can help those ideas come to fruition.”
