Kenny Kadar

Healthcare staffing runs in Kenny Kadar’s family. His mother ran Coast Medical Service from their home since its creation in 1979, and it wasn’t uncommon for Kadar to see clinicians stopping by their house to apply for jobs on a clipboard in the living room. After several years at another corporate job, Kadar took the helm of Coast as owner and president in 2011. Since then, Kadar has led Coast through unprecedented growth, expanding from a staff of two to over 80 and increasing annual revenue from under $1 million to nearly $54 million.

For Kadar, however, his greatest achievement has been helping others via the ripple effect of healthcare staffing: By helping clinicians find fulfilling work and helping healthcare facilities meet their staffing needs, Coast makes it easier for patients get the first-rate treatment they need and deserve. “We’re in a scenario where everybody wins, and there is nothing more rewarding than that,” he says.

Though this industry comes with its share of challenges — and Kadar acknowledges that each day is different and unpredictable — he’s proud of the resilience and supportive nature of the team he’s helped to foster at Coast. Through each “gut punch” of the past several years, Coast has emerged stronger and has earned a reputation as an employer of choice. In fact, thanks in no small part to Kadar’s leadership, Coast was named one of SIA’s Best Staffing Firms to Work For in 2023.

The future appears bright for Coast, and Kadar is eager to continue collaborating with his team to solve problems and meet any challenge that comes their way.
