After graduating from Texas A&M in 2008, Ryan Adams held human resources roles at companies such as PepsiCo and Turner Industries, developing a passion for the industrial market. He leans on this experience as the director of industrial talent solutions at Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom, where he has earned a reputation as a serial innovator. “I’ve always looked at things and asked, ‘Why are we doing it this way?’” he explains. “I’ve always challenged conventional strategies to try to figure out what’s next.”

Consulting with clients inspired Adams to develop a large customizable mobile program that has helped multinational chemical companies minimize onboarding and ramp-up times, retain vital internal process knowledge, bridge the skills gaps within the industry and set up a scalable active talent pool that is rapidly deployable for assignments of various lengths. The solution provides scalable talent support to 10 client sites throughout North America, enabling clients to rapidly deploy additional talent for unplanned events including outages caused by hurricanes and catastrophic winter weather.

While Adams is aware that the processes and innovations he’s spearheaded have been important in the industry, he emphasizes that he’s not working alone. “None of what I’ve done would be possible without the support of my team or the culture at Kelly where we’re consistently challenged to push the norms,” he says.

Adams plans to continue bringing new workforce enablement solutions to the ever-evolving labor market. He aims to drive creativity, strategic thinking and innovation by asking the hard questions that other people don’t always want to ask.
