Alexi Nazem

Alexi Nazem has spent his career at the interface between business and medicine. As a practicing internal medicine specialist, Nazem is intensely proud of what Nomad Health is doing to alleviate the clinician shortage crisis. The company, started in 2015, aims to make it easier for large hospitals and small practices to hire nurses and doctors by relying on one easy-to-use platform. He has found it incredibly rewarding to go from experiencing the healthcare staffing problem to creating a company from scratch that solves that very problem with a cutting-edge technology solution.

Whether as a startup founder, a consultant at a healthcare think tank, or as a doctor in health systems, he has always been motivated by the opportunity to do good while doing well. For him, this has meant trying to improve how care is delivered.

Nazem’s had the privilege of working on some fascinating and meaningful problems, he says. One highlight includes being on the leadership team of the IHI 100,000 Lives Campaign that successfully transformed hospital care across the US and prevented more than 122,000 in-hospital deaths in 18 months. As he looks to the future, Nazem is excited to keep building great technology to simplify healthcare staffing and meet clinical needs across the nation.
