Katie Kuhl spent her formative years thinking she was going to be a doctor, but while working in a medical research lab, she realized she was too personable to be stuck alone all day. Kuhl found she had a knack for connecting with people and building relationships, and thus her adventure in staffing began.

Today, as VP of talent strategy at LRS Healthcare, Kuhl supports talent initiatives throughout the entire employee journey. She and her team focus on acquisition of top talent, new hire onboarding, continued skill building to drive performance, personal and professional development throughout every stage of an employee’s career, and the implementation of strategic initiatives that align organizational structure and planning with future workforce needs.

Kuhl has a strength for building highly effective programs and thrives on having a blank slate to work with. “I love having the ability to take something and completely grow it from the ground up,” she says. Since joining LRS Healthcare in February 2022, Kuhl has grown the talent strategy division by 200%. Driven by her passion for investing in people and helping them grow, she developed programming that empowers employees to take charge of their career growth by implementing mentorships, coaching and in-person and online learning opportunities. She has also formalized development and career mapping, ERGs and more.

Going forward, Kuhl understands how critical technology utilization will be for the staffing industry and plans to continue to develop employees’ technology skills to work more efficiently. “What I’m most excited for is really helping strengthen the affection and buy-in that our talent has for technology and partnerships because we know right now that’s the future.”
