Tara Osseck is devoted to bringing healthcare where it’s needed the most. As regional VP of recruitment for Jackson Physician Search’s Midwest division, Osseck matches healthcare organizations with physicians who are a strong fit for the role and culture.

“We have an opportunity to make a significant difference for patients and organizations, particularly in rural communities,” she says. “In some areas, people have to drive several hours to see a doctor. While we are not physically caring for these patients ourselves, we are making a significant difference in their quality of life and care. And it helps drive jobs in these rural communities.”

Osseck also educates healthcare organizations about the benefits of having smart staffing solutions; combatting physician burnout; improving retention, engagement and communications; and completing succession planning to prepare for an upcoming wave of physician retirements.

Under Osseck’s leadership of the company’s St. Louis regional office, one of the national firm’s four offices, the area has seen 94% growth in regional placements in the past year and 124% growth in regional primary care placements. “We’ve had 1,042% growth in physician placements since I joined. We’ve helped clients open new healthcare facilities, establish new service lines, hire researchers and hire physician executives, from medical directors to chief medical officers,” she says. “It’s very rewarding for our team and for me personally, as I recognize that their dedication to our clients is what drives our success.”

For her hard work, Osseck has received the Jackson Physician Search President’s Club award for high performance for seven consecutive years – every year since joining the company in 2016.
