When a small IT firm offered Alan Kutasy a recruiter position at a small IT staffing firm after his college graduation, it was an easy choice: He liked people and technology, and he soon discovered he liked the staffing industry as well. After working his way up from recruiting to sales to a director position, Kutasy decided to chase his dream of being a business owner, founding Agility Partners in 2017. As CEO, Kutasy rejects the transactional approach of many staffing organizations, focusing on “the human behind the résumé” and offering strong benefits packages, 401(k)s and paid time off to consultants and external employees.

Kutasy says it’s the opportunity to make an impact that drives him in his work. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder in 2020, Kutasy was eager to make a tangible difference. His “Bridging the Gap” scholarship program awards individuals from underrepresented groups with $15,500 scholarships to attend a 14-week coding bootcamp. After the program, Agility Partners connects recipients with IT jobs and other resources. As of this writing, 15 individuals have received these scholarships, and Agility Partners has pledged another $1 million to the program over the next five years.

Despite his accolades and professional successes, Kutasy says he never loses sight of the fact that there is life to live outside of work, and he is proud of fostering an environment where his employees can create good lives for themselves. He welcomed his first baby at the start of 2023 and looks forward to growing his own family alongside Agility Partners in the coming years.
